Blank Gun Safety Info
TREAT BLANK-FIRING STAGE PROP GUNS WITH EXREME CAUTION. THEY ARE NOT TOYS!
Blank-Firing Guns and Stage Prop Guns have been specifically designed to fire one of the following blanks: Brass .22 Short, 8mm, or .380 short/9mm blanks. The correct type is stamped on the pistol. USE THAT TYPE AND THAT TYPE ONLY!.
DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES attempt to use blank-firing stage prop guns with a real cartridge or with any blank cartridge other than the one for which it is specifically designed. The guns are constructed of an alloy that is not strong enough for a real firearm, and such misuse may cause the pistol to explode, with resulting injury to the user or bystanders. Such misuse, or alteration for such purpose, may also subject the user to criminal prosecution. Also, any modification of blank pistols or disassembly by unqualified persons may render it unsafe for its proper use.
When blank-firing replica guns are fired, gunpowder gas is vented forward and sideways through the front of the cylinder, NOT from the muzzle. This gas is hot, and may contain small particles of powder debris. At arm's length it dissipates harmlessly into the air, but if one’s hands, face or other parts of the body are in close proximity to the vent hole it can cause burns, cuts or abrasions.
TO AVOID RISK OF INJURY always fire blank guns with your arm fully extended and at a safe distance from any other person. Keep your face and hands well away from the vent hole in the top of the barrel when loading, handling or firing. Always wear glasses to protect your eyes AND hearing protection. It is recommended that ear protection is used when firing these guns for your protection and for those around you. Blank firing replica guns can be extremely loud!
Except in theatrical, training or other carefully controlled environments, NEVER point any blank-firing gun at any person. The carrying, handling or brandishing in public of any object that resembles a real weapon may be in violation of the law, and can cause alarm or be seen as a threat to law enforcement officers or others - with serious or even deadly consequences for you.
